There is no best way to deal with pests in agriculture. Pesticides are commonly used, but they may cause many problems. Combining diffrent management operations is the most effective way to controls pests.
First of all, the chemicals in pesticides may build up as residues to the environment. They reduce the quality of farm harvest.
Moreover, pest can gradually become resistant to pesticides as well. It means that newer and sometimes storenger pesticides have to be developed.
Some pesticides also affect non targetted animals such as fish and bees. In the end, it affects the natural balance.
Additionally, completely wiping out agriculture pests may be expensive. Sometimes pest damage costs than method of control.
Therefore, integrated pest management is a safe and more effective option in agriculture.
